The job searching site Glassdoor.com says “truck drivers’ wages grew 7.8% in October, compared to a year ago,” and that it was the biggest jump among 60 common professions.1 This is great news for existing Truck Drivers or anyone interested in entering the professional trucking industry! “We have a booming economy, we’re seven years into the expansion and Truck Drivers are the front line,” says Andrew Chamberlain from Glassdoor. The company reports that overall (all jobs) the wage growth was only 2.8%, compared to the 7.8% Truckers received. And it’s not a mystery why: Truck drivers have one of the most important jobs in America by moving most of the country’s goods from state to state! Think about it, without Truck Drivers, we would lose our best form of moving goods and products across America, which means Job Security! Truck Drivers haul everything from building materials and water bottles to food and other vehicles. America’s Truck Drivers deliver’s the goods and are finally reaping the reward of a growing economy.

Glassdoor estimates that the median pay for Truck Drivers is $54,000!1 This means that half of the country’s Truck Drivers made more than $54,000 and half made less. And there is more than just one way to earn in the Trucking Industry! Many Truck Drivers are paid by the mile rather than the hour. They can earn MORE MONEY by driving longer distances and can even earn bonuses for driving the extra miles in a certain amount of weeks. Truck Drivers can earn MORE MONEYby moving up in a company or changing positions just like in other job fields.
