Out of 29 total nominees, Roadmaster Drivers School is proud to announce that three of Roadmaster graduates are among the top 10 finalists in Randall-Reilly Publishing’s Trucking’s Top Rookie Contest. A total of seven Roadmaster graduates were nominated for this prestigious award.
“This is a testament to our quality training program which prepares students to be America’s future professional truck drivers,” said Roadmaster Vice President Brad Ball. “To have our graduates recognized with these nominations is such an honor and we look forward to the announcement of the winner.”
Nominees for the contest were accepted from schools and motor carriers for drivers that have been in the industry for less than one year. An expert panel of judges included representatives from motor carriers, training schools, suppliers and trade associations. Graduating from Roadmaster Drivers School of Indiana, Top Rookie finalist James Perdue is employed by Roehl Transport Inc. Also graduating from Roadmaster of Indiana, finalist Gordon Redvay is a professional truck driver for Crete Carrier Corp. Finalist Roberto James graduated from Roadmaster Drivers School of Orlando and drives for Werner Enterprises.
The winner will be recognized during a press conference at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, and then interviewed by Eric Harley on the Red Eye Radio Network. The 2012 Trucking’s Top Rookie winner will receive a $10,000 check, a one-year complementary National Association of Independent Truckers membership, a year’s supply of 5-Hour Energy drinks, a RoadPro Getting Started Living On-The-Go Package, $1,000 cash and 100,000 MyRewards points from Pilot Flying J, a NAIT Ogio briefcase and duffle bag, an ATA “Good Stuff Trucks Bring It” package, and the Lindora Clinic Lean for Life On-the-Road program that integrates weekly one-on-one coaching, lifestyle focus, and nutrition education.
“We are very excited about having Roberto James competing for the Rookie of the Year Award,” said Werner Enterprises Vice President, John Fry. “We recognize Roadmaster Drivers School as a definitive leader in the training of entry level drivers, and one that meets Werner’s high standards.” Fry adds, “Roadmaster’s comprehensive program provides students with a solid foundation that enables them to advance easily within our training program and become productive professional drivers.”
